I know how important it is to have great schooling within your community and Maricopa schools are highly rated with great teachers and staff really dedicated to children's learning. We have great public schools and private schools, the choice is yours and families so here are a list of the school in Maricopa.
Butterfield Elementary, home of the Bobcats, is located within the Villages off of Honeycutt between Duncan Dr and Donithan Way. As of 2018 Butterfield has been rated an A+ school and is continuing to keep this A+ Rating. This elementary school is Kindergarten through fifth grade, the teachers are absolutely amazing and strive everyday to teach the children not only academics but good characteristics. My daughter is lucky to go to this school and the support the community of parents has for this school is absolutely amazing, I know first hand.
Maricopa Elementary, home of the Diamondbacks, is located on the bored of Maricopa Meadows and Alterra. Maricopa Elementary is a Leaded in Me Light house Schools. The school staff and parents work together to create a collaborative learning experience for the children. The Leader in Me program has been apart of Maricopa Elementary since 2013, they are 1 of only 7 Lighthouse schools in Arizona. Maricopa Middle school is a Kindergarten through Fifth grade.
Pima Butte Elementary School, home of the Mustangs, is located in Rancho El Dorado. Pima Butte is a kindergarten through Sixth grade school and recently was awarded an A+ Rating. By having high expectations of the students, staff and families of the students Pima Butte prides themselves on having achieved this goal. Schools go through extensive assessment to be awards this rating.
Santa Rosa Elementary School, home of the Smiling Scorpions, is located in Rancho El Dorado on the complete opposite side as Pima Butte. Santa Rosa is a Pr-Kindergarten through Fifth Grade school. With a very compassionate staff who strives to be like you when your children are in your hands the children experience a joyful and fun learning experience. Working hard and striving to push their children to be all they can be.
Saddleback Elementary, home of the Super Stallions, is located on the edge of Glennwilde off of Porter road before you get to Walmart. This school is a Pre-Kindergarten through Fifth grade school. The teachers and staff at Saddleback embrace the district wide Focus 21st Century Learning modeling. They are constantly analyzing and collaborating to ensure the students get the most out of the new model. Saddleback's students success is extremely important.
Santa Cruz Elementary, home of the Coyotes, is located in Tortosa. This school is a Pre-kindergarten to Fifth Grade. Santa Cruz prides on the fact of how diverse of a culture they have created at this elementary school. From art programs, to the use of technology and physical education. The staff not only encourages the students to set academic goals but also health and lifestyle goals as well.
Maricopa Wells Middle School, home of the Panthers, is located in the heart of Maricopa Meadows. Surrounding the middle school is disc golf courses, waterfalls and a huge community park. Maricopa Wells starts their mission statement off with and I quote “Prepare our students for success at the high school level … and beyond”. This middle school not only offers required classes but also ones to expand the students characters and make them more well rounded. Maricopa Wells throughout the year offers 12 different sport opportunities for both boys and girls.
Desert Winds Middle School, home of the Tigers, is located in Tortosa close to Santa Cruz Elementary School. This middle school staff provides a safe and welcoming environment to all the students. Not only do they strive to prepare the students for high school but the pride themselves on teaching the students how to live as a productive member of todays society. The middle school offers four different sport seasons and well rounded curriculum including required classes and blended learning classes.
Maricopa High School, home of the Rams, is located at the front of Maricopa Meadows. This is the only high school in Maricopa and they have roughly 2100 students. But the school has been around for 50+ years and grows with the community. The high school offers outstanding academics, extracurricular activities and advanced placement courses. They have all styles of teaching techniques, classes available in arts, music, sports, technology and so much more. The school has a performing arts center that the community business owners have opportunities to use, for example my daughters dance school has their end of the year recital there every year. Maricopa Hgih Schools mission statement is and I am quoting “Preparing today's learners for tomorrow's opportunities.”
Leading Edge Academy is located over by Saddleback on the edge of Glennwilde Groves off of Porter RD. Leading Edge is a kindergarten through eighth grade school. This Private or charter school is dedicated to leading children to excellence. Classes sizes are smaller and the focus on character development, traditional values, safe environment and best practices in education. Leading Edge in Maricopa is an A Rated school and they implement the Six Pillars of Character daily: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship. Leading edge has campus throughout the valley.
Legacy Traditional School is located across from Walmart on Bowlin Rd. Legacy is a Kindergarten through Eighth grade private/charter school. The school uses traditional education teaching “back to the basics”. They use an accelerated pace of study, have high expectations for both behavior and academics. Legacy also finds character to be a huge aspect of life. They pay close attention to developing children's character and help the kids strive to be good community members and well rounded people. They are always accepting applications.
Heritage Academy is new to Maricopa but has been around since 1995. This Academy is accepting applications for the 2020-2021 school year. Heritage is tuition free and fa charter school for grades six through eight. The schools promise is and I quote “At the center of everything we do is the desire to build powerful character that is reflected in the families and communities of our students.” Heritage offers a variety of different classes all the way to self defense classes and pride themselves on having smaller class sizes. Heritage will be a huge asset Maricopa.
Sequoia Pathway is located off of Honeycutt on Porter Rd. This school is a tuition free public charter school and is kindergarten through twelfth grade. This charter school is much smaller but is in the process of building a new campus over by the SPA Campus. Stay tuned for more information.
Sunrise Preschool is over by Sequoia Pathway on Porter off of Honeycutt. Sunrise is more then just a day care for your preschool aged child. This is a learning center as well. Kids will learn how to interact with each other and prepare for kindergarten. Preschool is not the only thing Sunrise also offers Summer camps for those in the preschool age.
The Children's Learning Adventure is a before and after school program along with having infant, toddle preschool and pre-kindergarten programs. This Adventure center offers bus transportation to public schools and after school bussing back for those working parents. The center also provides school break and summer camps and has extracurricular classes available. This is a tuition based center and you can find those fees and options on their website. Their mission is to provide a nurturing and caring environment to help children become confident and self positive. With so many program options kids will not get bored here.
Graysmark is located on Honeycutt right off the overpass. This school is a very small school that only has a small number of kids enrolled at a time and is kindergarten through sixth grade. By small I mean small 20-40 kids are enrolled into this school at a time. Graysmark is tuition based and you can find those fees on their website.
Maricopa also has a Central Arizona College Campus located across from Desert Passage subdivision. Here at the CAC Maricopa Campus you can get degrees in many different fields. You can get associates degrees and certificates in many fields of work from Arts to Business and Nursing to Web design. With a wide variety of fields to study and the small town feel this college is great for all Maricopa residents looking to switch things up in life or finish a program closer to home.
