The Villages offers a “small town” community feeling with no true street lights just small ones that light small areas of the paths at night. That is not all that is beautiful about the Villages. The Villages has tons of parks, greenbelts with walking trails and a community Rec Center. Also, the Villages is a huge circle that is great for getting exercise via walking your dog, bike riding or however you like to enjoy the fresh air.
As you enter into the community you are greeted with a beautiful view of the entrance lake which backs up to the community area. The community center has a rec room, full gym, a community pool, a heated lap pool, a huge playground with a splash pad and has two basketball courts and 2 tennis court. The rec center, pools, gym and playground are in a gated area that only Villages residents can use. During the spring and fall season the Villages hosts movies at the park in this area as well. Also, throughout the community in the little subdivisions you will find smaller parks, a total of 10 for the residents to enjoy. The Villages at Rancho El Dorado is also home to Butterfield Elementary School, this school is a A+rated school.

Within the gated community rec center is a beautiful community pool. This pool is open to residents of the Villages via key card access. This community pool is open from 6:00am-10:00pm. The community pool has a picnic BBQ area within the pool area.
Across from the community pool is a gated lap pool. The lap pool is open all year round and is heated. This pool has a couple hours available for free swimming but is specifically used for lap swimming and for exercise. The Lap pool is also available from 6:00am-10:00pm.
Along with housing the pools and playground the rec center has a HOA office, meeting room and a kitchen. The rec center rooms are available for the residents to use if not being used at that time. This area is completed gated and often hosts movies in the park on the big grass area behind the playground.
The playground within the rec center is the biggest out of all the playgrounds in the community and it has a little toddler area as well as the bigger kids playground. This playground not only offers a park but also has a splash pad during the summer months and picnic/BBQ areas for the residents to enjoy. The playground is accessible during the rec center hours which is 4:30am -10:00pm. There are a total of 10 playgrounds throughout the Villages.
